What is Chamber Choir?
Chamber Choir is an audition-based co-curricular at PRHS that comprises students interested in learning complex music from various eras and genres. Auditions for Chamber Choir are held primarily in the fall, with additional auditions added as necessary (and often spring pre-auditions to secure slots in the ensemble will be offered).
What does Chamber Choir do?
Chamber Choir is the premier vocal group of PRHS, and is the first to represent PRHS at regional events (like UMaine's S.C.O.R.E., adjudicated festivals, and touring opportunities). It also performs challenging repertoire in the March concert and will be the first group tapped when special performances are needed.
What prerequisites are there for joining Chamber Choir?
Students are required to be in chorus to be in chamber choir, though some exceptions can be made in extraordinary circumstances.
Audition Requirements:
Chamber Choir membership will be posted once all auditions are complete. Alternate seats will be assigned to students by invitation only. Students in alternate positions shall be awarded seats in the ensemble in the case of an ensemble absence/drop.
Chamber Choir members will be expected to follow these norms in order to maintain their seat in the ensemble:
